Hello cousins,

We hope everyone had a Christmas break filled with good times, good company and good food! Before we dive into 2026 with our last post on the first Australian born generation of the Hoschke family, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their support, encouragement and engagement with our posts this year. This is a passion project to document the stories and achievements of the Hoschke family, sometimes real life responsibilities like work get in the way but we have tried our best to stay true to our goals!

At the beginning of 2025, we had some ideas for a monthly newsletter telling the story of the first generation of our family in Australia, and sharing some of the photos and stories that other have generously shared with us. There were also other ambitious ideas that we didn’t get to follow though on, the on this day posts on Facebook and the children’s book on Amandus’ journey to Australia, these remain in the background to continue with as time permits.

Among other things, one of our goals for 2026 is to take a journey through a different decade each month and look at how the family has grown and thrived through hard work and a commitment to serving the community that is just as strong now as it was when Amandus first arrived in Australia.

We wish everyone a Happy New Year and look forward growing our community here this year. If we could ask one favour, it would be to share our website and newsletters with other Hoschke cousins, as our story is nothing if it isn’t shared!
