May Ethel Tait was born to Amandus and Mary’s second youngest daughter Mary and her husband William David Tait. Mary suffered from asthma, and was sent to live with her maternal grandparents in Orange, which was a drier climate, at around 12 years of age and she remained in that area for the rest of her life.

May passed away on this day in 1961, aged 42.
