Carl (Henry Carl) is the son of Frank (August Frank) and Henrietta. Frank was the second son of Amandus and Mary Ann.

He celebrated his 100th Birthday on 13 December 2013. His four children, Graham, Barry, Brian and Lynette (Sandra Lynette), delivered congratulatory messages from Her Majesty the Queen, Her Excellency the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO Governor-General of Australia, Prime Minister Tony Abbott, the Hon. Joe Hockey MP Member for North Sydney, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO Governor of New South Wales, and The Honourable Barry O’Farrell Premier of New South Wales. Messages were also received from Chatswood RSL Club and from Senator the Hon. Michael Donaldson Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.

On the following day, Saturday 14 December 2013, his four children, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren and their families gathered at Lynvale Nursing Home where he resides to celebrate the 100th birthday of the last surviving member of the second generation of Hoschkes born in Australia.

Linda and family came from England; Natalie and family from Victoria; Nicole and family from Queensland; and others from around New South Wales.

It was a very enjoyable occasion. Carl’s mind is still as sharp as a tack, but his mobility is not as good as it was in his younger days.
