Updates and Invitation

Hello friends and family,

Following on from our reunion held in 2013 we released a book and photos, it’s hard to believe that was over 9 years ago. Since then we have made some posts here on our website and on our facebook page. Our family story is dynamic and ever changing and rather than just publish a family tree, we thought it would be fun to create an engaging website that everyone can contribute to and be proud of.

Moving forward, we aim to provide regular posts of new information both here and on facebook. We are aiming for weekly, and look forward to sharing information that Ian has researched and curated from Trove and other family sources.

We would like to extend an invitation to others who would like to share their photos and stories as well to come forward. We would love to share stories and memories of all of the families connected to the Hoschke family, as well as memories of life as it has been for those families and the history of the Orara Valley as well. The following are loose categories that we will work through:

  • chronological
  • pre-WW1
  • during WW1
  • inter war years
  • during WW2
  • “recent”
  • family branches
  • agriculture
  • anecdotes
  • history of Orara Settlement – not Hoschke specific

We would love to hear from you and engage in this journey together. Our aim is to create a resource that can be shared into the future and captures the rich stories of Amandus and Mary’s descendants and their lives in Australia. Please share the website with your families, subscribe to the website to be notified when new posts are shared.

Feel free to email us on or use the form below to get in touch with us and share your families stories.

Warm regards,

Ian Hoschke & Kylie Hoschke

We'd love to hear your thoughts
