Dorothy Nellie HOSCHKE was born on 11 Dec 1913.
Dot spent her early life at Upper Orara. Her father died early and her mother Clunie Bain Hoschke (nee Manson) then married to Isaac Gould. She moved with her mother, stepfather and younger sister Joyce to Ungarie in NSW where she met and married Jonathan (Jack) Holdforth Baines.

They moved to Mandalong near Newcastle in 1941 and then to Adamstown, a suburb of Newcastle. In 1950 they moved to Locksley near Bathurst where Jack worked on a property called “Clifton”. In 1953 they moved to Manildra to work for the Gosper family. Then, the family, moved to Bathurst as Jack obtained a job with John Darling & Sons as a wheat inspector. Around 1955 he took a job with Commonwealth Wool & Produce Co. (later Elders) as a wool traveller until he retired.
During all these moves 6 children were born, Brian, Barbara, Norman, Bill, Kay and Jan.
After retirement Jack and Dorothy did extensive traveling around Australia and then moved to a hobby farm near Port Macquarie where they spent their final years. Dorothy died in 2002 aged 89 and Jack died in 2012 aged 103.
Dorothy married Johnathon H BAINES in 1934 in West Wyalong, Nsw.
